P G & E Gas Safety Academy Tour

Get a behind the scenes look into the P G & E Gas Safety Academy facility! 

Employees at this 30-acre state of the art facility are trained on:
•Heavy Equipment •Commercial Driving
•Pipeline Operations and Maintenance
•Welding
•811 Locate and Mark
•Leak Survey
•Excavations
•Meter installation and maintenance
This tour will include an in-depth look both inside and outside the Academy including the labs. 

As the Sr. Manager in charge of Gas Operations Training, Ryan Wake relays the importance of a solid training foundation. “PG&E Academy’s goal is to increase employee safety and productivity by designing, developing, and delivering best in class training. Because safety begins with having a qualified and competent workforce, we’re committed to delivering the right training to the right employees, at the right time. If we do our job right, field employees know how to do their jobs safely and efficiently, and employees can improve their skills and knowledge.”

If you would like to join us for this exciting and educational tour, these are the things you need to know. 

  • Tours will be held at 9am and 1pm October 5th. 
  • Tours will be 1.5 to 2 hours long which leaves time to ask questions. 
  • Tours are limited to 20 persons each to facilitate Covid-19 guidelines of social distancing. Please also note that masks will be required. 

Also, please note, long pants are preferred, and no open toed shoes are allowed. 

Admission is $15/person

 Admission includes a gift certificate for lunch from Lorenzo’s Town & Country Market which includes a delicious deli sandwich with your choice of chips, and soft drink.
